The Hooters of Parramatta opened its doors on July 14th to an anxious
crowd in Sydney, Australia. This is the first of 5 Hooters locations to
open in Australia and New Zealand by the end of 2007. "Based on the
sales from the Parramatta restaurant, we are very confident that Hooters will
do well in the Australia market," explained John Weber, EVP of Franchise
Operations for Hooters of America.
The Hooters of Parramatta currently leads the pack with the highest international
sales in the Hooters system and holds the highest international opening 7-days
sales record of $115,000. Hooters of Parramatta, located at 132 James Ruse Drive,
is the 430th Hooters location worldwide and marks the 20th country Hooters operates
in. Michael Finn, spokesperson for Hooters of Australia and New Zealand, stated, "We
are very pleased with the success of our first opening in Australia. Through
the tireless efforts of our employees, customers have given us very positive
feedback on their dining experience, which is reflected in our record setting
sales. We feel strongly that this will be the first of many successful international
expansion. Hooters is well known for its brand of food and fun, featuring a casual
beach-theme atmosphere, a menu that features seafood, sandwiches and Hooters'
signature spicy chicken wings, and service provided by the All-American cheerleaders,
